I decided to just

list the fictional short stories I read this year.

The short story title: 'The Other Family' by Himani BANNERJI which I found in an anthology called
Other Solitudes: Canadian Multicultural Fictions eds. Linda Hutcheon & Marion Richmond.

I like this anthology because more pieces are followed by an interview of the writer. The one conducting the interview is another writer.

The story is about the feelings that arise within a Mother when the young daughter comes home with a painting/drawing she did at school one day. It is a short yet powerful piece.

I do enjoy it when the author puts some notes at the end about the genesis of each story, especially when you're reading a multi-author anthology.
