oh goodness I read some more

Essays from On Writing by Eudora Welty. A well known series of essays by a self-identified Southern writer which she mentions often in these essays to the point it gets a little tiresome and annoying. Funny enough Richard Bausch's "Introduction" was the most interesting part of the text.

12."Looking at Short Stories"
13. " Writing and Analyzing A Story"
14. " Place in Fiction"
15. "Words Into Fiction
16. "Must The Novelist Crusade?"
17. "Is Phoenix Jackson's Grandson Really Dead?"
18. "Some Notes on Time in Fiction."

My computer battery level is low so I won't make comment on these except my eyes did glaze over a couple of times as I am no longer reading at a high level when it comes to "pillars of good writing skills" and I can't argue as well as I should to explain why I disagreed at times with Ms. Welty on many points. It is a good reminder that the writer in me has slid academically in reading about the craft of writing and said criticism.

I blame my paint brush.

I don't believe I've read anything by Eudora Welty, although I know the name. I just checked the tags for this community, and her name's not in there (although it will be when I tag this entry of yours) so if I have read anything by her, it was before I started this community and I've completely forgotten about it!
