2015 wrap-up post

It's a few days late and lacking in much detail, but here's a quick summary of my 2015 short fiction reading:

I read 366 stories in total, written by 222 different authors under the auspices of 60+ editors. I didn't track publishers.

I did not attempt to track the gender identity, sexual identity or ethnicity of the authors, but a quick scan down the database indicates a pretty even split between male and female (I may got back tonight and actually attempt to count) at the very least, and I know a goodly portion of the authors I read self-identify as "queer" (for any value of such: gay, lesbian, bi, trans*, gender-fluid, pan, etc).

I assigned 5 one-star reviews, 8 two-star reviews, 180 three-star reviews, 129 four-star revews and 44 five-star reviews. That means I at the very least enjoyed the majority (all but 13!) of the short stories I read, and better-than-enjoyed almost half of those.

I suspect I am stingier with 5 star reviews when reviewing individual short stories than I am with books. (You can go to my regular talekyn  LJ to see an analysis of my book reading in 2015).

I did not, for whatever reason, track genre this year; I plan to do that for 2016. I did track page lengths, but just got lazy about adding them up. I may come back and "edit to add" that total as well.
